The Drummer

In just under two years, professional percussionist and mixologist, Gabe Gallucci has developed his very own twist to music production, and has begun to make a strong name for himself. Gabe is making a name for himself through his specialization of integrating his drumming with electronic music.

Armed with a set of drumsticks, Gabe Gallucci kicked off his solo career, performing at many venues in the Greater Toronto Area, which has included him opening for Deadmau5. His skills have also been assimilated into his band The Midnite, who performs regularly in Toronto. The Band’s debut EP dropped in October 2011, and are currently working on new material.

Gallucci wanted to build on being a drummer and writing lyrics; he also wanted to produce the whole orchestra. Utilizing his vast knowledge of music theory and band mentality, Gabe has brought a raw take on electronic music production; which is displayed through his melodies and technical knowledge. “The engineering of computer-based production has got me hooked”, says Gallucci. “With live performances, I’m always working in a collaborative environment. I wanted to bring as much of that mentality as possible into my solo projects in the studio. Although I am producing a majority of my music as a solo artist, you’ve still got to look at your projects as a group effort when pairing so many instruments and samples into a soundscape.”

Gallucci is dropping another EP Monday June 11, 2012 Titled ‘Falcon’, collaboration with label mate Jed Harper. The EP will include remixes by Jed Harper, Stranjah, Northend, and Kim Fai.

You can catch Gabe Gallucci performing at Maison on Friday 13th July 2012 in a back-to-back opening set with Northend, as they warm up the stage for Hot Mouth and Robbie Rivera.
