Lazy Rich seriously needs to step up his game. 2011 was an absolutely massive year for Rich, having collaborated with Porter Robinson & Chris Lake, and delivering chart topping remixes for Lady Gaga, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Chris Lake, Morgan Page, and Zedd to name but a few. What a lazy cunt.
So what if he’s had tracks hitting number one across the usual digital retailers including Beatpants, Trackitdown, Juno, and The Buzz Chart. Anyone can do that. So what if Tiesto, David Guetta, Skrillex, Dada Life, Chuckie, Pete Tong, Laidback Luke, and Fedde Le Grande are supporting his music? And who REALLY cares that amongst all of this, he launched his own podcast series, “The Lazy Rich Show“? You’ve still got about 5 hours in the day you could be squeezing work into.
And in terms of having a summer anthem ready to drop at festivals across the planet, can you really consider his recent remix of “Sundown” by Chris Lake on Ultra Records an anthem? Are people REALLY saying things like “holy shit, every time someone plays this record in public; clubbers start having manic seizures from their inability to be able to comprehend the baselines!” Are they?!
While we’re still not impressed at all, Lazy Rich has also been taking his sweet-ass time to pluck a few releases from the likes of Lucky Date, Calvertron, Adam K, Chrizz Luvly, Fast Foot, Minero, Rocket Pimp, and Revolvr for his own Big Fish imprint. Big deal.
You can also catch him at Maison in Toronto on Friday 17th February 2012, in between a few solid power naps. We’re still not impressed.
